Message I had wanted a z32 TT since the model Z/old barbie commercial. Well I wrecked my beloved S-13 back in 2003 and figured I would start the search for my true dream car. After a few months I almost gave up and started to test drive S2000s, 350zs, and Porsche boxters. Then I was looking through auto trader and found a red 91 300zx TT 5 speed in Johnson City TN with only 1 picture of the front bumper and headlights. Said that it had a grinding in 2nd gear and but a new motor.
With a good feeling about the car I called the guy up. At the time I had no idea how to find his house out in the boondocks so he offered to let his son drive the 150 miles to pick me up and bring me back down. Well for the sake of owning my dream car I go for it. Get down there, shake some hands, open the garage.... and wow. There it sat, all dusty and lonely. He asked me to take it for a test drive so I jumped right in and took it down the street. I was so happy just to be in the car I didn't boost it until a really short distance right before I pulled back into his driveway.
A story ended up rolling in so... I had to spend the night with his family (all awesome! no creepyness). Woke up the next morning, wired $7500 into his bank account, called a rollback, and started heading home. Got it home and sent it straight to Nissan for a new trans which took over 3 weeks and two wrong trans ordered. Now with many many many mods later its sitting in a car cover in the shadow of my boat both awaiting spring time.
